If you currently have a TRUE Community Credit Union Mastercard, you will soon receive a new TRUE Community Credit Union Visa card! This update is part of our ongoing commitment to provide you with the best possible service, enhanced security features, and access to the latest in card technology.

If you use Digital Banking, you will be able to see your new card before it is shipped to you. For security reasons, DO NOT ACTIVATE YOUR NEW CARD UNTIL YOU HAVE IT IN HAND. 

 

When will cards will be issued:

Debit Cards: We will begin issuing Visa debit cards this month! Debit Cards will be issued based on the expiration dates, ensuring a smooth transition for members.

Credit cards: We will issue Credit Cards to credit card members in October.

Features of Your New Visa Card will include:

  • Tap to Pay: Enjoy the convenience of contactless payments. Now you will be able to simply tap your card at any compatible terminal for quick, secure transactions.
  • Enhanced Security: Our new Visa cards come with the latest security features, providing you with greater protection against fraud.
  • Global Acceptance: Your new card will be accepted at millions of locations worldwide, making it easier to use whether you are shopping locally or traveling abroad.

 

What You Need to Do:

  1. Watch Your Mail: Your new TRUE Community Credit Union Visa debit card will be mailed to you.
  2. Verify Your Accounts: Log in to Digital Banking to see a summary of your new cards.
  3. Activate Your Card: Once you receive your new card, activate it promptly to start enjoying the new features. Your MasterCard debit card will remain active, allowing you time to update any necessary information.

  4. Update Recurring Payments: Your new Visa debit card will have a new card number. Be sure to update your card information for any recurring payments, like bills, rent, or subscriptions.

When will I be getting my new tap to pay TRUE Visa debit card?  

If you’re card is expiring in 2024-2025, you’ll be receiving a new card towards the end of August/beginning of September.

Cards expiring in 2026-2027 will be received between September and mid - October.

You can activate your card by calling the automated system at 866.762.0558 or in the Mobile App under Cards.

How do I activate my new TRUE Visa Card? 

You can activate your card in the Mobile App under Cards, where you can also set your PIN! To activate your card in the Mobile App, click on Cards and then click on the new card. Next click on Set up card, and then Activate your card. You can also call the automated system at 866.762.0558 to activate your card and set your PIN. *Please note - you’ll need to call from the phone number on your account.  

Do I need to reset my PIN for the new card? 

Yes, you will have to reset your PIN, but you can use the same PIN from your previous TRUE card if you want! AND you can easily reset your PIN right on the Mobile App under Card Controls!

How long can I use my old TRUE card?   

Once you receive your new TRUE Visa card you’ll want to activate it right away. Your previous card will be deactivated within 45 days. During this time, you can update your payment information for any recurring auto payments.

It’s November and I haven’t received my new Visa card yet. What do I do? 

We might not have the most up to date mailing address for you and your card could have been returned to us in the mail.  You can verify your address under Settings and then Contact in Digital Banking.  
You can then send us a secure message in Digital Banking, stop into the Main branch on Clinton Rd. in Jackson, or give us a call at 517.784.7101 to verify if we have your new card.  

If your new TRUE card was not returned to us in the mail, you can get a new card with the updated features printed at any TRUECCU location.

Will I have to update my automatic payments attached to my old card? 

Yes, but you can utilize the Card Updater inside of Digital Banking to make it easier! Check out the How To Quick Guide here

I have two checking accounts, but both my debit cards look the same. How do I know which is which? 

You should have received a letter in the mail stating which card corresponds with which account. If you don’t have that letter, you can reach out to us via secure Digital Banking message, stop into any TRUECCU branch, or give us a call at 517.784.7101 for assistance. We recommend you remember the last 4 digits of your card that goes with each account. You could also edit the nickname of the account inside of Digital Banking to reflect the last 4 digits of the card for that account.  

I just got a new card in July, why am I getting another new card?  

We’ve switched card vendors to unify our card processor. Now we are utilizing Visa for both credit and debit cards. We reissued our credit cards in an effort to provide TRUE Rewards to all personal credit card holders. You can learn more about TRUE Rewards here

What is the international fee for my new Visa TRUE Debit Card? 

The international fee on the Visa Debit Card is the same for the Visa Credit Card – 1% on transactions that require a currency exchange.  

Why can’t I get a different image for my debit card?

The card images are connected to a specific account type (IE a checking account or credit card). We designed our cards to match TRUE’s colors and themes. We want your top of wallet cards to be easily recognizable with your favorite credit union!
